Yes,I have lost someone I loved . I lost my great grandma to natural causes. She died in the hospital, after going to the bathroom; the doctors said. I didn't really concern myself because i didn't really crying, till it hit me that i would never see my grandma again. I cried that day. I cannot compare this to the story. The boy in the story in the story did not cry ,the boy knew he could not be a boy anymore , the could not cry ,he had to become a man. He sucked it up and got that orange.

Dear Eugenia Collier,

In the beginning I was a bit confused. I wasn't sure about what was wrong with the father. Then there was the memories of the daughter.
All that was cleared towards the middle and end of the story, when they talked about her garden and when the destroyed really surprised me the story gives you a mixed scene of emotions.
I feel the story explained a feeling of mixed emotions
During the reading of the story i was reminded of my own family problems.
Like for instance my cousin, she has mother issues. There always arguing, and fighting each other.
My aunt always has issues with her, for example my cousin stays home cleans up  but when she wants to rest my aunt flips out and  bursts into this big argument. I think that she feels that her mother doesn't love her which is why she cries when it's over. Plus like the daughter in the story her father was a proud admirable man.
Then towards the end he had given up on life.
He was depressed, like my cousin's father he was a good man;was. He turned into a deadbeat dad when it came to the divorce and he didn't want to take care of his daughter
